Major objective: Building capacity of Students Council so that they can participate and contribute in improving the overall monitoring system at school level.
Capacity building training program for Student council of primary schools at 21 projected districts of Amar Odhikar Campaign (AOC) was held during October, 2012. Local level implementing partners of Amar Odhikar Campaign conducted these training programs at 21 projected districts of AOC across the country.
Amar Odhikar Campaign organized a human chain program by children in front of National Press Club to observe the ‘Child rights Week -2012’ (September 30, 2012-October 5, 2012) on September 30, 2012. At the human chain, representative of the Dalit children and children of AOC’s projected schools were present.
Amar Odhikar Campaign (AOC) organized the view exchange meeting on ‘We Are for Education and For the Teachers’ at the CIRDAP auditorium in the capital on the eve of the World Teachers Day on October 5, 2012.
AOC’s implementing member organizations and General Council Member organizations in 27 districts arranged seminars and rallies on celebrating ‘World Teachers Day-2012’. The districts are Dhaka, Narshingdi, Netrokona, Jamalpur, Sharitpur, Faridpur, Rajshahi, Chapai nawabganj, Naogaon, Bogura, Sirajganj, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Gaibandha, Kurigram, Sunamganj, Khagrachori, Sylhet, Cox-bazar, Chittagong, Noakhali, Barishal, Pirojpur, Khulna, Jessor, Meherpur, Kustia.
Amar Odhikar Campaign (AOC) celebrated International Literacy Day-2012 on September 8, through elaborate programs across the country. The Literacy Day-2012 focused on the link between literacy and peace, this year’s theme adopted by Government of Bangladesh. Amar Odhikar Campaign arranged rallies, seminars, discussions, live radio talk show in 27 districts of the Country and also formed human chain at capital city Dhaka.
Local level advocacy plays a vital role for successful implementation of AOC’s grass root level activities. That is why AOC planned to conduct a training program on local level advocacy for its implementing members as well as for general council members. A day long training session on ‘Local Level Advocacy on Primary Education’ was arranged by AOC secretariat on 26th July 2012
Major objective: To involve major four groups i.e. students, parents, teachers and education officers in process of developing syllabus and reviewing materials towards making the issues clear to them.
